The path of Jean Barraqué has the brevety and the shine of a shooting star in the sky of the after war. A quarter of century barely separate his admission at the Olivier Messiaen's class, in 1948, and his suicide, in august 1973. Furthermore the scores of this demanding composer, close from Michel Foucault, are continuing to shine, thanks to - especially - the proofreading that has made Jean-Pierre Collot. The somptuous Sonata in two movements by Jean Barraqué - written between 1950 and 1952 by a twenty-four years old man - remain at the top of the pianistic litterature.
