Ma maison est noire
Forough Farrokhzad, a rebellious poet, an unconventional filmmaker, and a shining symbol of freedom in 1960s Iran, is one of the key figures who inspired the movement for the emancipation of Iranian women. Today, actress and director Mina Kavani brings her to life with both body and voice in a fiery performance, blending personal narrative and poetic tribute.
Ma maison est noire weaves an intense dialogue between two women, two generations, two exiles: Forough's exile, who has been banned from publishing in her country since the Islamic Revolution, and Mina's exile, who fled censorship to achieve freedom on stage. Through a collage of poems, letters, interviews, and images, the performance conjures up a vivid memory, infused with anger, sensuality, and hope.
A creation born from a burning desire: to make the voices of women, who are still being silenced, heard once again.
