The Siamese sisters, Daisy and Violet, were born at the beginning of the last century. Illegitimate and disabled children, they were met with the fate of abandonment and even infanticide. Mary Hilton, the midwife who delivered them, decided to adopt them, more out of greed than Christian charity.
Exploited throughout their lives, they were passed from hand to hand. From fairground freaks to Broadway stars, they ended up forgotten and destitute. We will be recounting the story of their exceptional destinies in a set reminiscent of a circus ring, with a central stage entrance, a sort of box of tricks from which different worlds appear at each curtain opening. Two actresses will play the Hilton sisters, from birth to death. They'll be accompanied by a duo of ring boys, the story's servants, who go from masters of ceremony to clowns, magicians and comedians. They will play all the characters who have had an influence on the Siamese twins' lives.
The show will be punctuated by musical and dance numbers, visual and magical effects, taking spectators on a journey through time, oscillating between theater and cabaret, laughter and tears.
