“Ranger” like putting your affairs in order before dying I shall write this for Jacques Weber not him in real life but him because always him this great and humble actor full of curiosity who became my friend my brother before during and after Architecture in the main courtyard of the Palais des Papes in Avignon at night we’d go home at 3 in the morning after rehearsals and performances we’d go home together and the two of us would talk in the summer night like happy kids then we would part ways in front of a sublime wisteria oh wisteria in summer and I told him I’m going to write in order for you it will be this man putting his affairs his life in order before he dies he rents a hotel room and looks back at all the hardships and joys the sorrows and love everything before lying down and taking what will do the job and leaving the door open so that the thing that helps to die can come and nestle up against him.
