The artistic paths of Jos Houben and Françoise Rivalland cross for the first time in 1996 in Commentaires, a musical show by Georges Aperghis. Ever since, the one who defines herself as “a musician fascinated by voice and movement »,  and the one that claims to be « a burlesque comedian with a passion for movement and sound » have been looking for a chance to work together again.
The revelation of a common « love at first sound » for Mauricio Kagel’s work will give life to their dream and unite them on stage again.  Mauricio Kagel, the Argentinean composer who has been working in Germany since 1957, is a pioneering figure of musical artistry that is intimately bound with performance on a theatre stage.
Composed by Kagel in 1970, The Repertory declines its « Szenisches Konzertstück » (concert piece for stage) in some hundred situations like a hundred inspired flashes calling to mind that decisive instant so cherished by photographers.  This curiosity shop that assembles a rare collection of concert pieces for stage should be explored through sound visions seized in the immediacy of their theatrical apparition.  What an occasion for our duo to invent utopian instruments and to have fun with tragic absurdity where the clown spirit flirts deliciously with Dadaistic provocation.
