Samuel Achache crosses the patterns of collapse and rebirth, in a fragmentary piece worked with Schumann’s Lieder, which continues to freely explore the links between theatre and music.
Sans tambour is the story of the collapse that happens without warning of a house and the people who live there. From this situation Samuel Achache composes a piece in the form of paintings that recount several eras, from today to the Stone Age, and travels through the parts of life of those who lived in this house. The plateau is a site in permanent deconstruction, made of strata of the past and traces of the present. The singing comes out of the ruins and the musical instruments from the rubble; each musician-performer tries to reconstruct with what he remains, his distorted memory and his subjective memory.
Accompanied to the musical direction by Florent Hubert and a part of his collaborators, Samuel Achache returns to a very musical form that starts from the Lied as intimate form to work on the ensemble, having it carried by several voices.
