Iris opening on the closed door of the world’s last video club. Before Netflix, before Amazon, before streaming. Two men dreamed of movies, two men loved movies, and two men spoke of them willingly to customers who made their VCR a fetish. It was them, the Mohicans: a widower, a divorcee, drowned under VHS and DVDs. Quixote implosive, volcanic Sancho. They invent a new life for themselves in the countryside, to rebuild, to recover, to find themselves. Return to nature and haunted house: this is the program. For the ghost of Orson Wells is never far away, he who watches over a heritage of images and sounds, of loving memories, of incredible hopes. Under a menacing sky, between tragic and comic salvos, Lazzi evokes a world in liquidation, waiting for a sensible future.
