Storyteller ? Storyteller

I am a village. This village is born from my explosion. It took me a long time to understand that figures whose story I tell, these testimonies that I thought the most faithful possible, were only a discrete way of talking about myself hiding behind picturesque masks. That’s all that I like in storytelling. The possibility of crumbling into archetypes, heros or half-wits, the possibility of seeing myself in pieces and of piecing myself together through seeking. In my beggar’s bag I have stories that I have collected over all these years. They throw a light on the state I’m in.  They are my tool-box.  I drag them out, heat them up, bind them together, let them lose, I give them a rough time.  As if I had the power to tame them…. and to give a new varnish to the worn out word « storyteller ».
As years went on I lost the habit of worrying about the ephemeral, the taste for hours and days, for the audience known and unknown, for the infinite possibilities to tell a story by letting resound what is real, the world news told in mythological terms, both above the earth and in the caves of the world. I come back to it with jubilation.
