Welcome to Dans le ventre des cerveaux (Inside the Brains' Bellies), a prime-time radio show hosted by the renowned Isabelle Percot.
Tonight, for Earth Day, the network has thought big. The show is being recorded live from the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris! A special day calls for a special broadcast! True to the show’s format, regular contributor Jean-Jacques Flichet—joined by Cathie—will give our stomachs food for philosophical thought, serving up a meal tied to the evening’s theme.
Isabelle and her team have plenty of surprises in store. Tonight is all about decarbonizing our brains—and our plates! We’re all going to roll up our sleeves together! We’ll be out in the audience gathering stories and seeking solutions to avert the apocalyptic future everyone predicts.
The topic is serious and demands a substantive debate, yet Isabelle promises we won’t sacrifice style—or fun—in the process! One contributor quotes Erasmus: "Nothing is more foolish than treating frivolous things seriously; yet nothing is more witty than using frivolities to serve serious ends!"
However, the evening’s subject confronts us with our own paradoxes and our inaction in the face of relentless statistics and undeniable realities: the destruction of the natural world, the damaged planet we are leaving our children... It forces us to confront our own mortality and the question: "Why do we live?" What do we choose to value today in a world that is gradually stripping away the promise of a future beyond our own time?
Will Dans le ventre des cerveaux be willing to sacrifice a little style for the sake of substance?
