Quatuor Ébène

The Quatuor Ébène discovered the stage of Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord last season.   It is with shared enthusiasm that we shall meet again for a new concert.

Since 2015, the Ébène has been working on a cycle dedicated to Beethoven.  An opportunity to revisit a remarkable corpus of 16 string quartets.  Since his first attempts at the opus 18 to the pieces composed at the end of his life, Beethoven knew how to go beyond the forms inherited from Mozart and Haydn, and how to breathe a new life into writing for quartets.
